Hark!

Jerusalem // 2012
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful all ye nations rise

Join the triumph of the skies
With angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King

Christ by highest heaven adored

Christ, the everlasting Lord
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see

Hail the incarnate deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King

Hail, the heaven born Prince of Peace

Hail, the Son of Righteousness
Light and life to all He brings
Risen with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by

Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King

I was trying to figure out what to share today, but I think this song says it all. Although I love all the Christmas carols, 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing' is a particular favorite of mine as it so beautifully describes the immense joy we're celebrating today. And while Cameron and I didn't end up visiting Bethlehem on our trip to Israel last month, we were able to visit many other cities where Christ spent time including Nazareth and Jerusalem. That experience has definitely helped to give the Christmas story renewed meaning this holiday season! {I shared one photo from Israel above, I'll be sharing the rest in January!}

I hope that each and every one of you have a very blessed day full of family (or friends, if you can't be with family!), food, and fun! Merry Christmas!! Xoxo
