Name: Lola
Breed: Boxer/Lab Mix
Her story: She was the teeny runt of a litter of puppies at the Humane Society in Greenville, SC back in Dec. 2010 that originally came to us as a foster that we were going to take care of for two weeks until she could be put up for adoption, as she was only about 8 weeks old and 3lbs and needed some TLC. However, after about a day of fostering we decided we wanted to keep her forever, and she's been with us ever since! Now she's about 50lbs and is the goofiest, most loving dog that is like our furry little child. It's funny because breed-wise, she's not necessarily the type of dog we would have chosen (Cam wanted a bigger dog, I wanted a smaller dog), but it's like she chose us and we're so thankful. She honestly fits in so well with our lifestyle and goes everywhere with us, whether it's hiking a mountain or staying in a hotel in a big city. She has truly been the perfect addition to our family and we love her to pieces!

I started this blog in January of 2010 because I knew that Cameron and I had a big year ahead--he was finishing grad school, we were going on a 6 week backpacking trip around Europe, and we were moving to Greenville, South Carolina. I wanted a place to document all of our adventures as well as keep family and friends in the loop with what we were up to. However, it wasn't until about a year later that I really started to consistently read other blogs and really begin to understand that there was this huge community of other bloggers out there. Since that time, I have learned so much and have completely fallen in love with blogging! I have had the opportunity to connect with so many incredible people across the country, and I'm excited to continue to be a part of this vibrant community that has provided me with so much encouragement and inspiration.
As far as the name of the blog, I feel it symbolizes who I am and the balance that I'm constantly trying to seek in my life. Anyone who meets me for five minutes will probably figure out that my favorite color is pink, I just love it! From soft blush to vibrant fuchsia, the color pink radiates femininity and fun. To me, the "Pink" of ITP&G represents the shopaholic, makeup-obsessed, US Weekly reading, sparkly side of my personality. However, I'm also someone who cares about health and wellness, as well as the well-being of others and our planet. That's the "Green" side of me, the girl who loves to get outside and go for a hike and is constantly looking for ways to give back and live more sustainably. I also chose the name because I adore the colors pink and green together. It's such a classic, preppy, and fresh combo that definitely embodies my own personal style.
Thanks so much for taking the time to learn more about me and my little pink and green world! I'd love it if you became a follower of my blog, and I definitely appreciate your sweet comments! (I'm not always the best at replying to them, but I read them all that they mean the world to me!) Don't hesitate to contact me via email with any additional inquiries...have a fabulous day! Xoxo
